Can you make a difference for Muirhouse, and the local community in North Edinburgh?
These Board vacancies would offer an important career development opportunity, or someone looking to offer something back to the local north Edinburgh community as a Board member of Muirhouse Housing Association.
Muirhouse Housing Association is a Registered Social Landlord based in north Edinburgh.
MHA is at a pivotal point in its journey. Over the last 3 years we have turned around from high engagement with the Scottish Housing Regulator, to now being an example of best practice in our approach to landlord assurance. There is also high satisfaction from customers, but we don’t want to be complacent, and we are now looking closely at our long-term future and strategic options.
We are looking to strengthen our Board to help take the organisation forward. Different viewpoints, experience and a desire to make a difference around our board table is important to us. We want diversity on our Board so we would welcome applications from people from a whole range of backgrounds and experiences including the following:
- Muirhouse Housing Association tenants and others living locally with an interest in the local community
- Younger people and other people developing their career and employment opportunities
- Housing management
- Business planning and strategy development
- Human Resource Management
- Asset management
- Finance / accounting
The Board meet every 6 weeks, and there are occasional sub-committee meetings. These meetings take place in north Edinburgh, or virtually and we will increasingly be using hybrid approaches to meeting/virtual meetings to facilitate Board members’ availability and reduce travel requirements.
