MHA in the Community
Our aim is to work in partnership with the local community to provide homes and create a better Muirhouse. This includes helping to improve the facilities, resources, and opportunities in the area.
We introduced a Community Chest Fund in 2017 towards achieving this goal. The funding is available for community groups to apply for a grant. These groups must carry out projects which benefit our tenants and our local community.
The funds come from our subsidiary company, Muirhouse Homes, who manage our private rented flats and houses. The Board of Muirhouse Homes gifts all profits the company makes to MHA. MHA then uses these profits for the benefit of the community.
We encourage applications from local groups or voluntary organisations. To be eligible, groups must provide services with a direct benefit for our tenants, their families, and the wider community in Muirhouse.
