The Audit and Risk Committee
The Audit and Risk Committee is a subcommittee made up of MHA Board Members who have experience with and an interest in areas such as audit, finance and risk management.
The Audit and Risk Committee meets minimum 4 times a year and those meetings are an opportunity to have a in-depth look at matters relating to our management accounts and budgets. They also meet regularly with our auditors to take assurance that there are no areas of concern.
When they meet quarterly they also discuss areas such as finance policies, our Risk Register and budgets. They make recommendations to the Board in all areas of audit, finance, and risk management.
They also play a large role in our process to create our 3 year strategic Business Plan. the Audit and Risk Committee meet to discuss our long term financial forecasting and they have workshops to help identify the impact of proposed changes to our rents.
The Audit and Risk Committee is currently Chaired by Eric Hollanders.
The Staffing Subcommittee
The Staffing Subcommittee is a subcommittee made up of MHA Board Members with experience and an interest in all mattes relating to staff welfare, employment law and health and safety for staff.
The Staffing Subcommittee currently meets a minimum of 2 times a year, and more often if required. They also meet regularly with our Human Resource and Health and Safety advisers to take assurance that there are no areas of concern.
When they meet they discuss areas such as staffing policies, staff welfare, health and safety and performance management. They make recommendations to the Board in all these areas.
The Staffing Subcommittee is currently Chaired by Julie Smith.
