Adam Gray joined the MHA Board in 2020. He is an HR Manager with private sector experience in travel, tourism and leisure and also accommodation sectors across Scotland. He is also a member of our Staffing Subcommittee.

How long have you been on the Board?

I have been on the Board since 2020.

Why did you join?

in Inverness, I grew up in a neighbourhood very similar to Muirhouse. So, I appreciate how wonderful it can be to live in a place with a strong community spirit. Although, I also understand the challenges that come along with this. MHA already does fantastic work to provide great homes. I joined because I believe the skills and experience I possess will help to make it even better.

What is the best thing about being on the board?

Having the opportunity to take part in conversations that will hopefully positively impact the houses we provide. That, along with improving the housing services we offer and meeting some great people.

What is the most difficult thing about on the board?

All of the regulations as an RSL. Given that I’m not from a housing background a lot of these are unfamiliar to me. However, there is a lot of experienced people on the Board who will guide me in the right direction.

Why would you recommend joining the board?

It is a great opportunity both for learning and for supporting other people. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to contribute my time and knowledge to supporting the Muirhouse community, through helping in decisions making on services and homes.
